Impact of military strikes in the Middle East on air and sea freight
Following military air and cyber attacks by Israel and the US against Iran over the weekend and subsequent Iranian counterattacks on several locations in the Middle East, international air and sea traffic in the Middle East is currently severely disrupted.
The situation has been developing extremely dynamically since the attacks began. Many countries have currently closed their airspace either partially or completely, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Major airports in the region have temporarily suspended operations, including Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai (Dubai International and Al Maktoum International) airports. Many flights operated by major international airlines to and from the region have been canceled.
Some seaports in the region have also suspended operations, including ports in the United Arab Emirates (particularly Jebel Ali) and Bahrain. Many shipping companies are currently no longer sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The recent events are beyond our control and are currently significantly affecting our ability to carry out air and sea freight shipments for our customers as usual.
The situation in the region is constantly evolving, and we must be prepared for short-term changes over an unforeseeable period of time. We are working hard to find and offer alternative solutions for our customers' shipments wherever possible.
